Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wessing
Born December 3, 1950 in Düsseldorf.
Legal training at the Universities of Bonn, Münster, Cologne, and Washington. Admission to the Bar in 1982. Specialized in criminal law since then.
Prof. Wessing holds the title “Specialized Attorney in Criminal Law” granted by the German Bar Association. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Düsseldorf and teaches criminal procedure and law regarding fiscal offenses.
He is also a judge at the court on standards of attorney conduct of the Düsseldorf Bar Association.
Professor Wessing is the author of various articles in law journals and books mainly covering topics related to criminal procedure or substantial criminal law. He gives speeches with subjects like corporate crime and law regarding fiscal offenses on a regular basis. He was and is regularly invited by the German Attorney’s Institute, EUROFORUM, and other institutions.
Professor Wessing works as a coordinator or defense attorney in extensive criminal proceedings, but he also counsels national and international (mainly Anglo-American) production companies, corporations, banks, or corporate groups that are in crisis or need advice on questions of compliance.
Professor Wessing is chairman of a medical corporation.
