Helmut Frister has been Of Counsel of the law firm Wessing & Partner since 2013 and holds the chair for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law at the law faculty of the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. At Wessing & Partner, Professor Frister advises primarily – but not only – with regard to medical criminal law matters and gives expert opinion on procedural matters.

He habilitated in 1993 and took over the chair in Düsseldorf in the winter semester of 1994/95 He is also managing director of the Dr. med Micheline Radzyner Institute for Legal Issues in Medicine. Born in Berlin, Helmut Frister studied law in Bonn and completed his legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Bonn.

He advises his clients in German and English.
