Prof. Dr. Vivien Veit, LL.M. (Columbia University)

Prof. Dr. Vivien Veit has been Of Counsel at the law firm Wessing & Partner since October 2025 and teaches business law and private law with a focus on compliance and leadership ethics at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

She supports Wessing & Partner in all areas of compliance, in particular in the development of company-specific prevention strategies and in the design and implementation of internal investigations. In addition, she conducts training on compliance topics, in particular anti-corruption, #MeToo, compliance culture and interrogation techniques.

Prof. Veit is an ombudsperson for numerous companies and advises on the establishment of whistleblowing systems.

After studying law at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Prof. Veit completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf with stages in Washington, D.C., and at the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad in Beijing. In 2012, she completed her doctorate on a topic related to criminal corruption law. From 2010 to 2021 she worked as a lawyer and since 2017 as an associated partner at Kapellmann und Partner, where she specialized in white-collar criminal law, criminal compliance and internal investigations. Since 2022, she has been part of the team at KRAFT. Rechtsanwälte, where she advised companies and individuals in complex white-collar criminal proceedings and in setting up compliance systems. During her work as a lawyer, Prof. Veit completed the “Certified Investigation Expert” certificate course at Steinbeis University in Berlin in 2013-2014 and the “International Business Law” master’s program at Columbia University in New York City in 2024.

In 2025, she was appointed to the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

She speaks German and English.
